15 February 2021
After much debate, we decided to offer up a puppy that was in the December 2020 litter.  We intended to retain five (5) puppies from our last two litters, but rearing/training five (5) in the middle of a family emergency is not the best of circumstances.

We posted Teddy, a lemon and white big male puppy.  Very gentle, but intelligent, curious, and assertive.  He will make great hunter/therapy/companion dog.  He is 8 weeks old, got his first shots, 4 dewormings, and is ready to go today!

He can be found on our Available Dogs & Puppies page.

28 January 2021
After successfully retiring each female who delivered a second litter since 2019, we are rearing a pack of young Beagles, of both genders, who are tri-coloured, lemon & white, tan & white, and blue.  For this reason, there will be no other litters available until 2022 but, when that year arrives, expect good things from these outstanding keepers.  We have representatives from each line we have been working with and we know that these bitches will shine at maturity.

We will update our Active Dog page once these fine youngsters mature.

7 January 2021
We have chosen which puppies we are retaining from this current litter, one week ahead of schedule!  Because of this, we have posted the photos and information on the two puppies who are available. Both male and female are lemon & white. Their names are Gunnar & Grand Ruby.

Hurry before these two are gone.  This is our last lemon & white litter for about 2 years.  Once these two are gone, they are gone.

Our Magda outdid herself with this third and final litter of hers!  They are all bi-coloured Beagle pups, as anticipated. But, there are two who shall be either tan & white &/or red & white, as per lack of solid black nose pigmentation.

In this litter, there are three lemon & white females and three females and one who will likely be blue (lavender/lilac/khaki).  With the males, there are two lemon & white and one red & white.  This is exciting!  Variety is what we enjoy the most.

   It's Birth Day!!!

They did it!   Seven perfect little puppies: Three (3) males and four (4) females.  Both mom & pups are doing great.

Individual photos will be posted on this site once the two (2) week mark is hit.  At that time, we can book appointments, and accept reservations.  Check back in two weeks for these photos.

Due to the sharp increase in puppy scams nationwide, with CBS estimating that 75% are false advertising, we are implementing video conferencing availability so that out-of-state individuals can see the puppies, their parents, any possible siblings that were retained, and, of course, us.  We strongly encourage in-person meeting, as there is nothing like picking up and holding the puppies, or seeing the parents/siblings and watching them move about, but with long distance transactions, this might not always be possible and we not only understand this, but have also become accustomed to it.

If any interested long distance party wishes to do a video chat, simply tell us when making your initial contact with us.  We will be happy to make it happen.

And, if any out of state individuals do not wish to make the drive out, we work with a professional, caring, over-the-road transporter that we can supply the name and number for the purpose of contacting for information/booking.  They are not the only transporter out there, but this is one we have used extensively and are confident in a dog's/puppy's handling whilst in transit.

Mom's really starting to show and is growing heavier by the day. She is due in just 2-9 days!

Pregnancy!

Magda is carrying Spark's pups, and the pregnancy was said to be developing normally.  Their lemon & white and tan & white pups are due just a hair before Christmas.  We are excited to see what their last litter together will be (Magda is most certainly retiring and has a spay appointment for early January), as they do make magnificent progeny.

Be sure to check back for their birth announcement.

The intended mating between two of our A.K.C. lemon & white Beagles, "Spark" & "Magda", has occurred.  This is a proven mating, and we have an older daughter available for viewing.  If the pair succeeded, we will post a pregnancy announcement in one month's time.

Bookmark our site to be among the first to know of this 2nd bi-coloured, A.K.C.-eligible Beagle litter for 2020.

It is with the deepest of sorrow that we announce the passing of our 15 year old Pug, Charles Chaplin, this afternoon. He died in my arms.  Charlie will be missed tremendously, but we are grateful for the opportunity to have his progeny with us.

Because we are in the upper midwest and winter will soon be here, we will be waiting until spring to bring his replacement puppy down.  Housebreaking a Pug in the winter is harsh, due to being a brachiocephalic breed, and we do not wish to unnecessarily stress our new stud.  Remember, our working and winning dogs are our companions and friends first.  These are dogs who fill our sofas, beds, and hearts with love.  For this reason, we will not subject our newest companion to freezing whilst learning how to be housebroken.  We apologise for any inconvenience this causes, but his safety must come first.  Thank you for understanding our stance.

11 October 2020
One of our intended autumn matings will soon commence. Magda's estrus cycle was entered over this past weekend and she already passed her veterinary exams and blood panels without issue.

We will be bypassing our mating plans for the red & white bitch out of FC/BC Ella this autumn.  Because our Pug is being replaced with a puppy from his line, and because we intend to keep one or two female puppies from Magda, there will be enough puppies to housebreak this coming spring.  We will breed her during her next estrus cycle in approximately April of 2021.

We will update this page with information and photos once their mating to "Spark" takes place.  Because partner acceptance is never a guarantee beforehand, we hold off on bringing intended dam photos from our Our Dogs page here until after the cycle ends.  It prevents confusion on the part of the viewer, just in case the mating does not take place.  It is very rare, but "Spark" did refuse a great intended bitch last December!

5 September 2020
Our A.K.C. Pug, Charles Chaplin, did it! He made it to fifteen (15) years of age today! His genes are full of Pugs who had long, healthy lives, save a few old age complaints that occurs in elderly dogs of every breed.

Happy, Happy Birthday, our faithful and true friend. Thank you for your years of total companionship and impeccable service. Thank you for your affection and deep love. Thank you for being your beautiful self.
You're the best, Charlie, our gift from God, Himself.

"Magda" should soon be entering her estrus cycle. "Spark" is waiting (im)patiently for their collaboration. We will update if/when the planned mating occurs.

Our intention, whenever they have progeny, is to retain up to two (2) female puppies since this is the dam's absolute final litter. We are scheduling her sterilization the day she delivers this litter, as she is going into full retirement/sterilization once dry. Strictly sofa city and play yard romps for our beautiful gal from then on out.

Female puppies from this litter will not be posted at two weeks, as male puppies will be posted. Female puppies will be posted at four (4) weeks. Male puppies will be posted at the standard two (2) weeks. Because we are retaining up to two (2) females, we want to be certain of their patterns, coat colour (they have produced 3 coat colours: tan & white, lemon & white, and red & white progeny), eye colour (they produce brown, green, and blue), personality (they will all be beta dogs and very, very happy/sunny ones at that), conformation (parents are solid), and overall qualities before choosing which one(s) to retain.

Please know that their most recent litter together was reserved/adopted by just two (2) weeks of age, the week we typically post photos and accept viewing appointments. We do not pre-reserve puppies and do reserve the right to pull a puppy from availability. So, if you know that you absolutely want one of their fantastic progeny, check frequently once a pregnancy is confirmed. And, once the puppies become available, you may wish to act quickly. Once reserved, they are gone. And, as already stated, we are retaining up to two of the retained bitch's (1st daughter) full sisters-to-be, and this is the absolute, written in stone, final litter from this wonderful bitch.

2 September 2020
Because our current Pug, Charles Chaplin, will be 15 years old in just 3 days, we have decided to bring down our next Pug from the farm this coming spring.

This will mean that we intend to resume breeding occasional lemon and white (blonde & white), as well as classic Puggles, towards the end of 2021.  We will be using Calamity Jane ("Carlene"), a wonderfully beta, smart, loving, and gorgeous lemon & white A.K.C. Beagle.  She will be 2.5 years old and is showing a lot of promise in some trials training.

We will announce his arrival when we bring him down to us here in Illinois.  Bookmark our site to see our long awaited updates on our Pug and Puggles.

31 August 2020
Our intended bitch, "Magda", for an autumn litter had passed her blood-work for nutrient check and overall health with flying colours and is considered in top form, per our vet.

She is running and roughhousing with our other, younger females, which is always fun to watch.  Her personality is beta and conformation sound.  Though her pups can be trained to hunt and run A.K.C. trials, most clients who have their puppies have stated that they are intelligent, quick to learn, and eager to please....excellent companions  They are cuddle-bugs and make wonderful companion animals, too.  Gentle and quiet.

We will update when her estrus cycle arrives.  Bookmark this page to be among the first to learn of her status and the intended birth.  Though we do not pre-reserve our Beagle (nor Puggle) puppies, we do have several clients in line to be contacted once their litter is born.

20 July 2020
Although we posted about this elsewhere on this page, we wanted to post specifically about this matter for people viewing our pages for the first time.

We are choosing to bend two of our very strict rules about breeding. This might only be done with dogs who complete their championships or with a sire/dam combo who are knocking it outta the park with intelligence, beauty, conformation, and demeanour. We are allowing a bitch to have a third (3rd) litter and her mating to that same sire should be taking place in September of 2020. If successful, this would put us with a November litter whose viewing availability in would be in November of 2020 and pickup in January of 2021, just 4 months away. We normally have a two (2) litter limit on our bitches (even if A.K.C. allows 4 litters from a registered bitch) and we normally shun back-to-back mating that other some breeders & puppy mills often partake in doing.

We have not backed off of our rules nor have we with our litter limits since the spring of 1995, when my brother bred an absolutely phenomenal double A.K.C. bench/trials CH bitch to the top double CH U.S. stud of that time. It is not a common occurrence, nor should be expected to occur with another bitch. This act is very rare and is taking place with many health preparations and safeties in place. We cannot stress this enough. And, we reserve the right to sterilize her immediately if anything happens to make us think that this potential mating could harm her anymore than the average odds on a dog who has only had one litter.

Two of our bi-coloured A.K.C. Beagles, call names "Magda" and "Spark", will have a third litter in the works this year. We have put Magda on a special vitamin and mineral supplement and want to get her blood drawn beforehand to be sure that she and the proposed puppies have the best nutrition assimilation possible.

Bookmark our site and return to see a pregnancy confirmation announcement and birth announcement. If anything arises that will make us want to halt the mating plan, we will certainly update this page.

THEY'RE GONE!

All of the 5 May 2020 L & W and R & W Beagle puppies have been adopted and are no longer at our kennel.

Because we failed to retain afemale puppy from Magda's 2nd litter, we are going to bend our 2-litter limit rule and our even stricter no-back-to-back rule. She is healthy and still young. With proper mamagement, it can safely be done once.

We will spend the next 4 months supplementing Magda's vitamin & mineral intake so as to be certain that all goes well with both the dam and her puppies.

30 June 2020
🎵Their bags are packed. They're ready to go...🎵
The spring Beagle litter from "Magda" & "Spark" are 8 weeks of age today and ready to go to their new, loving homes. It is a wonderful day for the families who are opening their hearts and homes to a Magnolia Acres Beagle puppy, but a sad day for us. We really know and remember every last puppy born in our kennels over the past nearly-31 years. They are not just known and remembered, but deeply loved, too. Puppy release day always brings tears. Truly.

All Are Reserved

All six Beagle puppies born to "Magda" and "Spark" have been reserved by 2 weeks and 6 days of age. We currently have no other puppies available at this time, nor have we chosen to retain a female puppy from this current litter, as originally considered.

Our next planned mating is scheduled for autumn of this year and that litter will come from our tri-coloured bluetick Liquid Smoke daughter, Star, and our 15" lemon & white stud, "Spark". There will be colour variety in their proposed litter of rabbit Beagle puppies.

Litter Update:
As of this morning, there are only two (2) female puppies left to choose from now.  We strongly suggest that if you have a puppy of interest, contact us before it is too late.  This is the 2nd and final litter for this unbelievably nice dam, so there will be no more puppies to offer from "Magda" after these are gone.  It is the reason why we are keeping a female from this litter, too, as we did from Magda's first litter.

18 May 2020
Photos Uploaded!

Our summer Beagle litter out of "Magda", by "Spark", will be two (2) weeks old tomorrow. We uploaded their individual photos this afternoon - along with the pertinent information on each puppy - to the Available Dogs page.

This litter consists of six available puppies. Two (2) red & white puppies and four (4) lemon & white puppies in all. The coat colouration on all of the puppies will be tan splotches on a predominantly white coat, but not bright orange. Most, if not all of the puppies should be open in their colour, like their sire (white back with colouring on their sides & ears).

The only visual trait that gives away their coat colour is to look at each puppy's nose colour: black & butterfly (part black and part flesh-toned) noses for lemon & white, and flesh-toned noses for red & white. Updated photos will be posted each Monday, as will each puppy's current availability status.

Most of the puppies have opened their eyes today. Next week's photos will be even better because their faces will start bearing expressions.

We are now accepting appointments to view the puppies, their dam, their sire, and their older sister (full sister from the sire and dam's first litter) we retained. For everyone's safety during these times, meetings shall take place outside on the lawn. Please be sure to read our Adoption Information page and our Payment Information page prior to calling or arriving for an appointment.

Call or text either phone numbers at the top of this page, or e-mail us from our Contact page. We typically respond within 24 hours.

It's Birth Day!

"Magda" was safely delivered of "Spark's" second (2nd) litter with her. They had two (2) males and four (4) females this morning. All of the puppies are healthy and nursing like champions at twelve (12) hours of age.

This litter will bear two coat colours. Both lemon & whites and red & whites are born white & remain so for the first couple weeks of life. Both colours are in this litter. "Magda" is lemon & white while "Spark" is a light, open light red & white. Their first litter together only had those two coat colours, too.

Individual photos will be posted when they reach two (2) weeks of age. We will then be accepting appointments for interested parties and will book outdoor viewings so as to keep viral safety in place.

Because we have a stringent breeding program, we always own both sire and dam. In this case, we also retained a full daughter from that first mating. All three (3) dogs can be seen when the puppies are being met.

We strongly believe that when a puppy is being shown, any/all related dogs also need to be shown to prospective families and individuals. This accomplishes two things:

1. You meet the parents and, if retained, an older full or half sibling so as to see conformations, their personalities, & see just how your puppy will mature.

2. You see the health and care of our own dogs, not just the puppies. We do not breed dogs with defects, poor health, nor advanced age. Two is the absolute maximum number of litters a bitch may have in all but the occasional & exceptional bitches from time to time. Three litters are rare.

We truly love our dogs who, aside from being Trials & Bench dogs, are our faithful, loving & beloved indoor companions.

4 May 2020
She's nearly there! "Magda" is due to deliver "Spark's" puppies within the week. She is due on 9 May 2020.

There will be only two litters this year, which is more our normal schedule.

The other bitch we will be using this year is Star, a Bluetick black & tan, 2 year old A.K.C. rabbit Beagle by NTSC Fast Tracks Liquid Smoke. She will also be mated to "Spark" who should add yet more speed, a bit of height, and a calm & quiet personality. "Spark's" progeny are everything we hoped for in the next generation.

16 April 2020
It's official!

"Magda", one of our nearly open lemon and white (bi-coloured) A.K.C. Beagles is expecting her 2nd and final litter of puppies to "Spark", another bi-coloured, open red and white A.K.C. Beagle who is light coloured, around the 9th of May, 2020.

We are excited to meet their offspring, particularly since we retained this new litter's older full-sister and she has performed identically to the reports we received from those who adopted her littermates.  They are said to be quiet, smart,  a desire to please, and great companion dogs. Their intelligence and inherently calm demeanour make them the perfect candidates for companionship and/or service dog training in the future.  And, if procured for hunting, these guys will have dad's solid speed.

Puppy photos are typically taken weekly, starting when they reach two (2) weeks of age. Check our Available Dogs & Puppies page for their photos.

Bookmark our site and return often to see the update that will contain the birth announcement and to sneak a peek at this litter.

They're gone!

All of "Gwennie" and "Spark's" puppies have been adopted and are no longer available. We wish all adoptive families many years of love, happiness, and togetherness with their Magnolia Acres Beagle.

There are only two (2) female Beagle puppies available from our late December litter. There is a red and white female puppy, currently known as Caren, and a tri-coloured female puppy, known as Luna. Both females will be listed on our Available Dogs and Puppies page in two (2) weeks.

Bookmark our site and return to see photos of these two puppies. These individual pictures will be uploaded on Thursday, the 9th of January 2020. Following that, new photos of the puppies will be uploaded each weekend until they leave our kennel.

19 December 2019
We are expecting a long-awaited litter of Beagles this month from a lovely, permanent champion bitch that we pulled out of her 12-month rest period, BC "Erika", anytime after this coming Thursday. These Beagle puppies will be able to leave our kennel in late February 2020.

12 November 2019

It's official!

A.K.C. BC "Erika", one of our permanent champion Beagles, has conceived though one of our Beagle sires, "Spark".

This Beagle litter due in late December of 2019. Those resulting puppies will then be ready to leave us in late February 2020.

Bookmark our site and check back often for updates on these developments.

Our autumn purebred Beagle puppies are officially on solid food, now that they are 4 weeks old today. An excellent job was performed by all. They belong to the "Clean Plate Club".

All of our puppies are enjoying a dry kibble made from whole foods, real meat, and zero fillers. We feed our puppies Nutri Source Lamb & Chicken.

 4 November 2019
These October lemon & white Beagle puppies are positively dreamy. They love being held so much that they roll onto their backs and either affectionately lick our hands and arms, or they try to gently bat at our fingers as we give them belly rubs. They snuggle, cuddle, wag, and show great enjoyment over human companionship. They received their parents' personalities and it is wonderful to experience.

Play began in earnest this past week. The puppy we have retained from this litter, was the first puppy to try it out on last Tuesday and by Sunday, everyone was chewing on a partner, complete with wildly wagging tails.

Though these puppies would be at home out in the field, they will positively thrive as companion Beagles and be remarkable therapy dogs. If you are looking for a gentle companion who loves you with everything in them, these are those puppies. Truly.  This line is consistent,

They will be four (4) weeks old in just three (3) days. At that point, we shall introduce them to Nutri Source for Large Puppies. They are currently tasting their world. The time is right to start them on solid food on Thursday.

 29 October 2019
Due to a hectic weekend of mating the last two Beagle bitches who were slated for 2019 puppies, and moving/renovating our office/dog viewing room, puppy pictures were not yet taken.  We will snap their individual photos today and get them uploaded by tomorrow, 30 October.  We thank you for your patience.

Gwennie's puppies are so very lovely.  Both parents, though great hunters, are wonderful household companions: intelligent, gentle, affectionate, and fully bonded to us.  They could easiy train to become therapy dogs themselves.  Their progeny bear similar personalities as companion animals, and speed whilst out in the rabbit field.

We have held and cuddled every last one several times a day since the day that they were born, as we do with every litter that ever came.  They will be ready to bond with whomever adopts them.  And, due to strong parental intelligence and ease in training for both hunting and obedience, we believe that their progeny will also be easy to train.  Brains, beauty, and good health...all in one litter.

It's Birth Day!!!

It's birth day! Gwen has three (3) female and four (4) male, Beagle puppies in her litter with "Spark". We anticipate seeing both lemon & whites as well as red & whites in their puppies.Bookmark our site and check back in two (2) weeks on our Puppies page for individual photos of this litter. We will be offering four (4) male puppies and one (1) or two (2) female pupp(y/ies) for adoption. Their names, genders, pertinent information, and adoption fees will also be added at that time.

We will be scheduling viewing appointments and accepting deposits to hold one's puppy of interest until s/he is ready to leave us at eight (8) weeks of age.

This week, our Pug, to whom all of our current Puggles are related in some way, turned 14 this week! Charlie Chaplin is still going strong and, aside from age-related cataracts that were seen at the age of twelve (12), is in excellent health. He descended from our original Pug, Martin, and after 29 years of improving the breed, is far superior to our original where health and longevity are concerned.

Join us in wishing Charlie a very happy 15th year.
